This League was set up several years ago and has become successful in developing a good standard of netball and competition for Clubs across Cheshire.
It was initially set up as a development League for Clubs to provide players with development in their playing abilities and skills and for umpires and coaches to develop and hone their skills.
As the League has developed the CJNL is able to provide a strong netball competition for all athletes to enjoy. For some age groups it is a qualifying competition for entry in to Regional competition. Last season 2019-2020 saw 18 Clubs from over Cheshire competing in CJNL from U10s up to U19s but unfortunately due to Covid-19 and lock down the league was abandoned in March.
This season 2020-2021, with guidance from England Netball and Government, we have been able to return to playing netball. Although the game has been modified in order to return to play we still have 15 Clubs in the CJNL with teams from U11 to U19 with all games this season being played as friendlies until such time we can return to regular netball play. We all have a duty of care to ensure that the League is run professionally and safely, allowing the development of athletes, coaches and officials. Above all, games must be enjoyable for all regardless of the results. Negative comments from participating, officiating or spectating individuals will not be tolerated as the CJNL committee are proud of how the League has developed, the opportunities it provides and the standard set.
